Question

hi, i'm not sur how long ago but i would guess about 6 months ago i had a contraception implant implant put in my arm..i cant find the card but i think it implanon. recently i find when drying skin or putting on clothes i seem to catch one end of it, its like it coming closer to skin, also i have had darrhear (runny poos) n sickness n sweats for 7 weeks now n first thought had swine flu n then gp thought it was lung infection cos had cough as well but after week of antibiotics cough went but not sweats or runny poo n sickness , then in confusion cos of no sleep due to night sweats i forgot if i had taken anxiety tablets and read side effects n saw i had 14 of side effects, anyway i been off anxiety pills for 2 weeks nown runny poos n sickness improving, i would say it halved so maybe side effects but i still being sick n runny poos n sweats, could the implant coming into skin be causing symptoms and is it normal for implant to move towards skin..anxiety was due to my dog having cancer

Hello

The Implanon is just a small tube that is implanted under the skin that slowly releases a hormone called Progesterone that will last up to 3 years.

The Manufacturer of this implant states on their website that if any changes occur within the skin or the implant itself, to see your Healthcare provider and have them examine the implant to make sure it is still patent. So, for this reason, yes, I would have it looked at to make sure it is where it is supposed to be and not becoming unlodged.

Your implant should not cause diarrhea at all. It can cause breast tenderness, nausea, fluid retention, and acne.

Sounds like you might have had a case of the stomach 'flu' or Gastroenteritis, and possibly an upper respiratory illness as well.

Hope this helps!
