Answer

The best thing to do would be buy a service manual for you particular engine.it will give detailed information on how to remove the power head from the mid section.

Accepted Answer

If you dont have access to a service manual i will walk you threw it. First thing is to support the powerhead with what ever device you are using to lift it off with.Next remove the nuts that bolt down the powerhead to the mid section.Remove your wiring harness connection, shift and throttle cables, positive and negative battery cables and your fuel line connection.Once to this point you can lift the powerhead off the mid section .I hope this helps.

shane as you have seen from my question, I need to remove the swivel mount on this motor andf replace it with another. So I know I have to remove the jet unit and this is a outboard motor that I'm working on. You said remove the bolts are they small bolts or acouple of big bolts on t this engine?

I keep hearing about mounts that I must be careful when removing the powerhead and careful not to damage them is this true?

Do you have any pictures that would help me in this situation of mine ?
