Question

Aspire one netbook. i was playing 1 song with media player 10, computer squealed and blue screened. will not boot in safe mode, last known good configuration or in normal startup. is there anything else i can do?

you may need to do repair install of XP.
it will restore all the system files and leave your data and settings intact.
You will need windows XP installation disk
put it in disk drive and boot from it.
Boot from CD - How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD

once you know how to boot from bootable installation disk.
put the disk in drive and restart the computer.
follow the steps given in this article for repair install

Aspire one has no optical drive and xp cd wasn't furnished with new computer. i have usb dvd, but no program??

Hi,
you can download the disks from http://tinyurl.com/5box53
you can set the laptop to boot from usb dvd, goto bios and chande the setting to boot from USB.
once you know how to boot from bootable installation disk.
put the disk in drive and restart the computer.
follow the steps given in this article for repair install
