Question

I have a cat about five years old and he has feline aids. Last night I noticed a squishy lump on his front right leg and it is warm to the touch. What could this be?

Hello,

As you know, with an immune-mediated condition like FIV, your cat is more prone to develop infections. This squishy lump may be an abscess under the skin, especially if it feels warm to the touch; heat typically signifies infection. It may have to be drained and your cat will be started on antibiotics.

It would be a good idea to have your cat's leg evaluated in person by a vet, as soon as possible, and once the lump is diagnosed, your cat will be treated for the condition found.

I hope all will be well with your furry boy.
