I have a Johnson/suzuki 90 hp 4-stroke 2004. The diagnontic system on dash does not come on when I switch motor on.I have ask mechanic at dealer but haven't got an answer.

Is this a small 2" gauge or a 3 1/2" tachometer with the System Check lights in it?

Its a 2" self diagnostics system indicator that does an engine check upon start-up

Ok, if you check the connections at the gauge ands find that you have a good ground and switched b+ when the key is turned on you have a defective gauge.

Pretty common I'm afraid.
