Question

48 yr old Female thin build good gen health history of thyriod cancer sharp pain at my lower esophaegeal sphincter just proximal or at diaphram after swallowing. It feel as as though sphincter is constricted or scarred. No indication of acid reflux.. Could I havd developed a hiatal hernia and what would that feel like?

Hello,

 

Hiatal Hernia presents as an Acid Reflux and pain in the chest and upper abdomen.

 

This can be a hiatal hernia, or a possible scarring of the Esophagus caused by treatments for the Thyroid Cancer.

 

I would advise you to see a doctor and have Barium Swallow X ray test or an Esophagoscopy done, that would help in reaching a diagnosis.
