Question

I would like to ask about a few different symptoms..I was diagnosed with haemorrhoids before and I have them pretty much continously i think. have following symtoms, blood in stools, sometimes nausea, constipation alternating with diarhea and normal passing of stools also. I also get bloating and cen experience discomfort after eating a large meal. Do you think this could be anything else or is it most likely haemorhoids? Sometimes I am passing urine frequently also. I am a 22year old smoker who is fatigued a lot also.

Answer

Hi and thank you for your question. Your problem is not typical of hemorrhoids, but rather suggestive of Irritable bowel syndrome. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder that affects the large intestine (colon). Irritable bowel syndrome commonly causes cramping, abdominal pain, bloating gas, diarrhea and constipation. Despite these uncomfortable signs and symptoms, IBS doesn't cause permanent damage to your colon. Treatment for IBS begins with diet. Many people find that their symptoms worsen when they eat certain foods such as chocolate, milk and alcohol. Soda and some fruits and vegetables may cause bloating and discomfort in some people with IBS. Stress and hormones also play a contributing role. I would recommend that you see your Dr for a diagnosis and treatment. I hope this information helps you, if so, please click accept. Thank you and I wish you the best! :-)
