Question

I have a pedler state licence.Over this tax year i have made 11000 $ in income from selling roses and flowers. i am going to report it in my next federal and state tax return next april. BUT i dont have any prouve of what i have made. all my transaction , pursaching, selling roses was in cash. i want to know if the IRS need somme prouve of my pursache. (I AM NOT GOING TO CLAIM ANY TAX CREDIT, I DONT HAVE A KIDS.

Thanks for your question. It is good that you are going to report your cash income on your next tax return. See What kind of records should I keep? for types of records you should keep. You should keep a daily cash receipts file so that you can show how much you made each day.

If you want to deduct any expenses, you will need to keep receipts for those expenses such as inventory- buying the roses from your supplier.

The problem is that i dont have any thing official . i want to know if KEPPING MY OWN RECORS IN A BOOK BY MYSELF EVERY DAY will fix my problem. BECAUSE , i can only do this.
