Question
Hello, I have a 7yr. old indoor, neutered cat that has been healthyuntiljust recently. He contracted a urinary tract infection that was missed by a vet that went on for 2-3 weeks, without treatment. Now he has been treated w/fluids, antibiotics, and an appetite booster. He is not eating, at all. His sinus ways are clear, we're using baby saline to ensure this. We've tried high-fatty warmed food, chicken broth, etc. Is there any "natural" appetite booster because he has to begin eating now.. or he'll die.

Hello,
I'm sorry to hear your cat has been experiencing this trouble.
When a cat stops eating due to illness, and will not eat on his own, it's important to dropper or syringe feed him with either watered down plain jarred baby food chicken containing no onion product or seasonings--Beechnut Stage 1 chicken and chicken broth is a good one--or watered down quality canned cat food. You would give one 1cc sized dropperful every 20 minutes for an hour, then repeat in 2 hours if he's still not eating on his own. Go in from the side of his mouth, where there is an opening between the upper and lower teeth. Go slowly and wait for a swallow; you can encourage the swallow reflex by gently stroking his throat.
Also, if your cat is not diabetic, offer him Nutri-Cal for Cats; this is a palatable paste in a blue and white tube, which supplies extra calories/energy to sick cats who are not eating properly. You can find it in major pet supply stores. It also may be called 'Nutri-Stat'.

You can also try pouring some clam juice or tuna water over some tasty canned food or plain boiled chicken breast (also no seaonings/onion) and see if this will entice him.
You can offer the watered down baby food from your fingertip, little by little.
I hope things improve for your furry boy, very soon!
