Answer

Hello!

There are three major things that factor into front pads wearing down that fast.

1. bad front calipers... they could be sticking causing the front pads to wear down quick or causing the front pads to wear uneven.

2 back brakes not working good or not working at all. If you have rear drums brakes, be sure that they are adjusted up.

3. lead foot driving. Either stepping on the brake pedal hard and or consistently while driving or driving two footed... one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake pedal causing the brakes to be engaged ever so slightly.

i was hoping for something better than that. i'm ase sertified for 21 years. answer 1 and 2 have been addressed. no problems there. suspect answer 3 might hold some truth. so your telling me there is not any known problems with master cylinder and proportioning valve etc.

Answer

Sorry for the delay!

I just did two different searches for this vehicle about the brakes and did not come up with anything for the brake system nor have I heard of any pattern failures with the master cylinder or proportioning valve. However, this does not mean that this is not a possibility.

i was really hoping you could tell me something i didn't know. no recalls or dealer hot sheets on this kind of problem?

Accepted Answer

There are a lot of problems with the master cylinders with these vehicles, but I have not one archive that the master cylinder has caused this problem you are describing. But, this again, is not to say that it cant happen. You might have a bad master cylinder causing your problem.
