Hello,
Any nasal discharge?
Any eye discharge?
How do the teeth look?
Passing pellets?
Urinating?
Diet you are feeding?
Joan
It there is no urine being passed and no pellets, we have some serious issues going on.We need to start the Hamster on some fluids. The best option would be to have a Vet start an IV drip, but until you can do that we can try some first aid. Please take an eye dropper and give some Plain Pedialyte (baby electrolyte replacer) to the hamster every 15 minutes. This will start to help dehydration. I would also like you to take some of the pellets and grind well and add the pedialyte and make a slurry. Try to get some of the slurry in via eye dropper. If you have some plain yogurt you can give a little to aid with the gut flora. We need to get this Hamster into a Vet that is familiar with Pocket Pets and that can administer fluids subcutaneously to get the hamster going again. I would also like to see you put a drop of karo syrup or maple syrup on the tongue of the Hamster. This will help if the blood sugar has dropped from lack of food. If you do not have a Vet I can try and get you a listing for a rodent vet. Joan
