HPV symptoms in men are not always present because most people who have a HPV infection don't even know they have it. HPV lives in the mucous membranes or skin and usually causes no symptoms in men or women. Some men will develop visible genital warts in their anus or penis. If there are symptoms of HPV in men, they usually come in the form of genital warts. These usually appear as soft, moist, pink, or flesh-colored swellings, usually in the genital or anal area. Genital warts can be raised or flat, single or multiple, small or large, and are sometimes cauliflower-shaped. After sexual contact with an infected person, warts may appear within weeks, months, or not at all. Can you get a mirror ( or two mirrors) and try to look and see what they look like?
