Purchased a LG GP08NU20 DVD player/burner foe my Acer Aspire one. Thplay play dvd video but no audio. However it will play an audio cd. Contacted LG and they informed me that the acer need a codecs in oreder to play the dvds. How and where does one get this CODEC for windows xp ? Curtis

Hello,

Please try the following and let me know the results:

1 Download and Install K-Lite Codec Pack (Free) using the following link

http://filehippo.com/download_klite_codec_pack/

(To download, click on Download Latest Version at the upper right corner)

Once installed, click Start-> Programs-> K-Lite Codec Pack-> Media Player Calssic

Try to play your DVD with Media Player Classic

file hippo comes back with an 404 error, "sorry the page you requested could not be found. Click here to return to the home page". Upper right corner displays "Download our free update checker "NEW" and scan your PC for the latest software updates" Should I select that? CURTIS

I typed the address as you suggested and selected the item in the upper right. Now it is loading Codec_pack_530_fullexe from download.betanews.com, but it seems to be hung up at 39 percent. Should I cancel and try again? It is definitely hung up at 39 percent. Curtis

Scroll a little and you will see K-Lite Codec Pack under Audio and Video

Click on it and then click on Download Latest Version at the upper right corner

It should start the download

Let me know if it able to complete download

It did not start by it self, had to select the other button. It diwn load "update checker" but I don't believe it downloaded the "pack"

I just discover that my security was not allowing the file to download. Corrected that problem and am now downloading the program. Sorry for that problem, just discovered it....running windows player and I now have AUDIO for my dvds...........Great job. I apologize for the unneccessary problems. I just did not notice the bar telling me about the security.SORRY CURTIS
