Question

MY girlfriends has a 01 Oldsmobile Alero, we had the fuel pump replaced in August and the car ran fine, then in early October the car would crank but would not start, we repleced the fuel pump, fuel sensor, and fuel filter but they still can not get the car to start, we really need our car back please help!!!

The first time back in August the car would crank but not start, we were told it was the fuel pump so we replaced it, in early October the same thing happened. My girlfriends father took it to a "mechanic" who since then has replaced the fuel pump, fuel sensor, and fuel filter but the car still will not start. They have had our car for three weeks.

I don't really know how to put this, so I'll just say it.

 

Get your car somewhere else ASAP.

 

A "crank, no start" is a fairly basic problem. Replacing your entire fuel system instead of properly diagnosing the concern is not a way to repair anything and it is going to just keep wasting time and money.

 

If this is a "friend of a friend" like it often is, I realize it can be a little touchy. But if this is an actual repair facility then you should not be responsible for any bill.
