Question

I have a Spanish lap top running on Windows Vista in the Spanish Language. I am returning to Spain next March. Can I download the new Ubuntu system in the English language then, to run along side Vista? XXXX XXXXXXXX

Yes, you can run Ubuntu on a dual boot configuration with your Vista. It is pretty easy, and cost effective since Linux is free of course.

OK. thanks. this I realised would be acceptable as many Brits here are doing just that. My point is that I will be using this system in SPAIN. On a Spanish dedicated Spanish written programme. By bringing on an English language programme with Ubuntu will I be able to run both programmes side by side?

If your talking about dual booting Windows Vista spanish and an English Ubuntu, you should not have any problems.
