My 14 year old son acquired a rash after playing football. The rash is all over his stomach, arms, back, and upper thigh area. We have not changed laundry detergent, or anything else for that matter, and when I took him to Walgreens, the pharmacist told us to use an anti fungal creme, and he has used the entire tube with no relief from the itching. Any suggestions??

No, he has had it for about a month and it is mostly scabbed over. I have researched scabies to body herpes to jock itch and none of them have the same characteristics. When he itches, it is bright red but then it just scabs over. Tried cold compress and talking to pharmacist.

It could be what we call atopic dermatits. He would need strong steroid cream or even oral. This is by prescription.

Keep it very moisturized with lotion. 3 Minute rule - when out of shower dry off and apply lotion within 3 minutes.

You did not mention Benedryl but you may have already tried it.

I would say it is time to see your provider.
