Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with fleas. First, consider stopping the garlic. While sometimes considered good at warding off fleas, it can also cause problems in higher dosage. At home, you can do the following to get things under control. Some of the steps will need to be repeated:
1. Bathe your dogs (one at a time) in a solution of dish soap and water. Lather this well and while still soapy, use a flea comb to dislodge the fleas.
2. Have a soapy pot of water next to you. Dip the flea comb in here after each pass. this will kill the fleas.
3. Rinse your pet. Rinse out the tub, then bathe in a gentle oatmeal shampoo. Repeat on each pet. You will want to repeat this process again in about a week.
4. Vacuum everything in your home. This includes the couch cushions, underneath of it, under beds and the mattresses. Repeat this daily for one week, empty the filter or bag out after each time, place in a ziplock and take out to the trash.
5. Wash all fabric. Cloest items, curtains, dog beds etc. Nests and eggs can form on these. Repeat in one week.
6. Clean all surfaces with a vinegar and water solution. Repeat in one week.
7. Keep yoru grass cut short and look into a product called DE (Diatomaceous Earth). It should not be used by those with breathing problems, but repeals fleas.
8. After this is taken care of, keep up with a once a month application of flea medication.
This should help your problem.
