Question

Hello, I just made my 3rd oil change on my 1998 V70 . Can't find the reset button for the ''service engine'' light to come off. Can someone please help ??? Thank you very much for your time. Respectfully, stephan Gilbert

There is 3 different types of Instrument Panels

Early,
that needs to be reset via Scan Tool

 

Late that can be reset by:

 

To reset the service reminder indicator (SRI) carry out the procedure as following:

Ignition off

Press and hold in the trip odometer reset button

Switch on ignition

Continue pressing in the reset button for 10 seconds until Service Reminder Indicator starts flashing.

Release reset button within 4 seconds

Hello,

still not working ?

I'm pressing the reset button then turn switch to ignition and non of the lights flash...even after 30 sec and plus.

The car was scan (in a non dealer garage)couple days a go and no problem detected.

Any sugestion ?

Those are the only 3 ways & it sounds like you have the early Cluster, which would need Dealer Scan Tool to Reset...............sorry

Sorry that wasn't what you wanted to hear, as I stated, there are 3 types & if the 2 do not work, then yours must be the "typical" early Cluster that Dealer Scan Tool is needed
