Answer

Thank you for contacting our JA team for guidance.

Assuming you are not an officer of the court (a lawyer), you will need the court's permission to issue the subpoenas since they carry the court's contempt power if the parties do not comply.

You can prepare the subpoenas and attach them to a motion to issue them to the court. It would help if you had at least a paralegal assist you with this or retain an attorney for the purpose of issuing the subpoenas.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

Best regards to you,

TG

I lost my job in July and am barely keeping my head above water. I need to do this myself. Is there a form I file or do i Just goto the court house with the names and addresses?

Accepted Answer

You will need subpoena forms. If the clerk of the court does not have them, your local library should. You will also need to get a hearing date on the motion from the clerk so you can send out a notice of hearing on the motion. Otherwise, it will not be considered by the court.

All the best to you!
