Hello,
The Dupuytren contracture does develops due to following reasons-
1.In patient with liver cirrhosis

2.Age over 40.

Although there are various operative treatment for DC.You should adopt following diet for this-

4.Iodine-Rub SSKI on the affected area .You may mix it with DMSO gel which gives penetration & pain relief.

I take 2 l00 mg nac pills daily orally. Is this a blood thinner? My platelet count is currently 21,000. Will steps 2,3,4 stop or reverse the DC? Will the iodine-rub stop the DC? I don't have pain -- the fingers are bent 90 degrees so cpu typing is difficult. Thank you, XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Answer

Nac is not a blood thinner but its action on the DC is due to its anti oxident property as etiologicall a lot has been been said about the damage due to oxidative stress for DC.
Your platlet count is really very low you should check it with your physician it may be harmful & may lead to spontaneous hemorrhages.
Step 2,3,4 does not reverses the DC but do soften the nodule & improve your work capability & help in preventing further progression.

Hope this will be helpful.
