Where is the switch which activates all the interior and running board lights when the rear hatch is raised and how can I de-activate it?

Hi XXXXXXXXXXXXX. Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer.

 

The switches are located on each door latch for the rear hatch.The only way to disable them would be to disconnect them.This would involve removing the rear hatch interior trim to access the latches from inside the liftgate.This would also cause the door ajar warning to stop working for the hatch.
