Question

I have a 1992 Geo Storm (base model) that needs the entire exhaust replaced. I had an estimate of over $600.00 for all new OEM parts and labor. Is this the normal or am I getting ripped?

Answer

hello, if that estimate is for factory parts and includes labor it is very resonable. what all parts of the exhaust does it include? do you have a list?

Answer

then id say yes that is very reasonable, i just wanted to make sure it included the convertor as those are usually pretty expensive by themselves. so if it includes all that plus labor, id say your getting a good deal.

I have another question. My front tires are compltely bald on the inside. The mechanic said I just need a front end alignment and new front tires. What else could be causing that type of wear?

Answer

if its just the insides that are worn thats a sign of camber that is out of spec and i would agree with you mechanic that it needs new tires and an alignment.

has anything been replaced in the front end?

Not since I've owned it -1 yr. So an alignment and tires. That exhaust system just seems high to me. But I am not a mechanic. Thank You for your replies.

no problem, as for the tires the only reason i asked is on some models, not sure about the storm, the front struts are where you adjust camber and if someone replaced those and didnt know to have it aligned afterward that would explain it.
