Question

I have a 1989 Lincoln Mark VII with brake problems. There is a special hydro booster in front of the master cylinder that has a small motor in it. This motor is believed to produce pressure in the brake system to give the drive a soft brake pedal. Right now the pedal is very hard to push and stop the car. I'm told that this assembly can be rebuilt for $1500 as there is no available part on the market. Is there any way that the brake system can be moditified to work like a standard abs system without this booster and of course the cost of $1500. I've searched the scrap yards and have found no Mark VII to replace it. Any ideas out there before I scrape the car?

Hi,how are you?This particular system can't be modified from what you all ready have in there,i had the same vehicle(same problem).The entire brake system could possibly be changed,but the cost is going to well exceed the $1500,you might try everdrive.com for the part,but unfortanlly it might be a long shot.
