That could be a sensor problem, however,

 

There are several areas of the vehicle's ABS/TCS systems that will cause the lights to come on.

 

You will want to have the code(s) read to know what area may have caused this.

Would need of brake replacement cause this? And if so, would just replacing the brakes reset the warnings or is this something that would require an additional step?

Accepted Answer

No, the brakes themselves wouldn't cause any trouble codes. Most times it turns out to be a sensor, but there could be something else, really hard to say without a diagnostic test.
