Why does my HP Photosmart C74180 All in One printer refuse to print my Quicken checks now that I have upgraded to Windows 7. Help

Already Tried:
Installing software for HP Deskjet 990C and making it the printer for Quicken. That worked on Vista, but not now.

Hi !!

I am very sorry, but unfortunately HP does not support this printer for Win 7. It means HP will not provide a driver / software to make this device compatible to Vista for this device.

Also, no other company will provide you a driver for this as its a HP product. So there is absolutely no way to get around this.

You might (not guaranteed) be able to do some basic operations on this device using Windows's built in basic (generic) driver. This will be installed automatically when you will plug in the printer, power it up and restart computer.

I see on HP website that they have drivers to support Win 7, my problem is with printing from my Quicken account. I am using Win 7 64bit.

Hello !!

As per information I have this is a known issue that customers are not able to print checks in Quicken either in Win 7 32 / 64bit.

Quicken or HP has not released a patch yet as of info I have. Your best best is to use a Vista or XP computer for now to print checks on that HP printer.

I will opt out so that other experts can look at it too. If someone has better idea they will get back to you.
