What is the equivalent dosage of lorazepam to phenobarbital when weaning off of lorazepam. I've been taking lorazepam for sleeping (up from 1 to 3 mg a night) for about 4 years.

Already Tried:
Tapering off of ativan but it's hell and now that I'm out of ativan I want to try phenobarbital to get to sleep while I'm trying to get through my ativan withdrawal, that' why I'm asking for an equivalent dosages between the two.

Accepted Answer

Hi and thank you for your question. There is no equivalent dosage because these are two totally different medications. I would recommend a call to your Physician for a possible refill of your ativan because it is not recommended to be discontinue abruptly.
