Question

This is a follow up question on the cracks in my basement floor. You had recomended 'Simpson Strong-tie ETIPAC10' to put in the crack. I ordered two tubes and attempted to fill the crack. All of the ETIPAC10 drained out of the crack (or evaporated, but that seems less likely). I went over the same area several times. Several sections probably at least 6 times. I purchased Quikrete's Concrete Repair and quikrete's Gray Concrete Crack Seal. What is your opinion of these products. At the rate I am going with the Simpson product I will spend more in ETIPAC than on the pouring of the floor. Any thoughts in general?

Well that isnt good. What it tells me is that the cracks were too wide. Probably got wider as they went down.

You would need to use the ETI-GV but it iss not available in the single tube type packageing. The ETI-GV requires the double tube applicator gun. They run about 50 bucks. I cant see you putting out that much for a one time application.

The other products are not structurally rated, so I dont recommend them if your goal is to have a solid slab. What you can do is call the Simpson tech line. They will address your concerns and if I know Simpson they will send you out some of the ETI-GV as rerplacement for the other stuff. One thing they are big on is customer satisfaction.

The number is 1-800-999-5099.

If they wont help you out with this please let me know. I have contacts here in the So Cal area that I can call on to remidy the situation.

Best, THS
