Question

Hello, I am having trouble with ActiveX installations in Internet Explorer. Everytime a download or program requires this, the internet gives me a "iexplore.exe Application Error 00x700000 The memory could not be..etc." message, freezes and shuts down. I have tried suggestions from the Microsoft Support site but none have worked. Please help!

I have tried suggestions from the Microsoft Support Site including: Checking the dates of my certificates (all are almost exactly as recommended but don't tell me how to alter anything) "Enabling" everything that relates to ActiveX control on my Internet Options. Trying to add those sites I need to download or use to my "trusted sites" but it freezes before I can.

Ok.

 

Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

 

Then in no addon mode try to download.Does it help?

This is the message I get:

Okay, I'm not getting the Error message. However, it now won't ask me if I want to install the Active X control.

 

Here's more info that might help narrow down the problem:

The first website that I found the problem with was Facebook Photo Uploader control. Previously I could use it without any problems, but since then it asks me to install the add-on "Facebook wants you to install ActiveX Control click here" tool bar..but freezes and gives me the Application Error message when I try to.

 

I have found similar problems with Asus downloads for my laptop, eBay etc.

It tells me that it's a melicious add on, my internet has had to close and my security certificate won't allow it.

 

It always worked before though up until this new version of IE I think. I have no idea why it won't now.

 

Can you shed any light?

Unfortunately no, it hasn't solved the problem, PC Mechanic. :(

 

Still getting the freeze, won't allow me to add on Active X and gives me:

 

iexplore.exe Application Error

The instruction at 0x0d8b0068 reference memory at 0x0d8b0068

The memory could not be "written"

Click OK or Cancel to Debug.

 

But won't let me do either and closes the window.

 

Any further suggestions?
