Answer

Hi,

Wuwasomo.dll is a virus. Go to the Start Menu, then Run then type msconfig and press Enter

Go to the Startup tab, press Disable All then Apply then OK and restart and see if the message still comes up

Ok go to Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware tab then Device Manager

Once in Device Manager, look for any devices with yellow exclamations and list them here if so

Answer

Ok so the wireless is there.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Adapters

Right click on the Wireless Adapter and go to Properties

Inside of the Properties menu there should be an option to show the icon for the wireless connection.

Check that and click OK

I can't find anything under properties that allows me to display the wifi icon. help!

Answer

It should say "Show Icon in Taskbar" or Notification Area or something like that

Nope; can't find it. I went to: start / settings / control panel/system/hardware/device manager/network adapters/intel(r) pro/wireless (right click)/properties there is nothing under the general, advanced, driver, details, or resources tabs that references the icon. Am I looking in the right place?

Answer

Yeah. That's weird. Can you connect to a wireless network?

Ok, I found "show icon in notification area when connected". I clicked it and restarted the computer. But there is no wireless icon for me to click on in order to make the connection.

Answer

Go to Start > Run type services.msc and press Enter

Scroll all the way down and tell me if "Wireless Zero Configuration" is started

If not, double click on it and click Start

yes, it does. I was able to get on the Internet by allowing windows to configure my wireless settings. It's weird that the icon still isn't there.

Accepted Answer

So you're connected? Really strange. You could try going into Device Manager, selecting to Uninstall the Intel wireless card, restart and then let it reinstall and see if it comes back.
