Hi there ,
Welcome to Just answer !
Well, it seems that owing to a stressful and demanding life style due to the circumstances that you have , you have developed depression , and this has taken a toll on your sleeping pattern and your cognition ( thinking process ) , and if not treated right now , this is going to become worse ,and you see , the problem with depression is that it makes you give up on your professional, personal and social life , which you can not afford to have at this tender moment in your life where , your husband and kids need you the most as the sole pillar of your family , and let me just tell you that i am so proud to have come across you , as you are shouldering the responsibility to run your family single handedly with great effort and sincerity , that it just overwhelmes one to see you like this , and i would want you to perform your responsibilty with equal conviction in future as well, so for that reason , kindly follow the treatment regime , that i am mentioning below after discusing it with a psychiatrist or a physician.
You see right now , you need to first take care of your depression and after that you can concentrate on your family including your husband's health , as you see only a healthy mind can only operate well functionally , so just consult a psychiatrist and get the below mentioned regime discussed with him and get started on it and in a 2-3 months duration you will completely recover from depression and again will be able to carry out your responsibilities quite well.
The regime is as --
1 ) a combination of 1 anti depressant and 1 anti anxiety drug ..
The anti depressant can be chosen from these options -- paxil cr or effexo xr , any one of these two is to be chosen and given only once a day , as they are long acting drugs , and preferably to be given in the morning.
The anti anxiety drug can be chosen from these two options-- klonopin or ativan , and the chosen one to be given at night only dose.
2) Psychotherapy , that is counseling in lay terms to be also started by the psychiatrist , and since it is a short duration therapy , once it is complete , it will help the drug regime to help you recover faster .
So, kindly discuss this regime with a psychiatrist and get started on it as soon as possible , and i am quite sure this will help you to get back on track to face the grind of life all over again.
Now , besides your own condition of depression, which shall be treated as explained above , it seems that your husband has been suffering from PTSD ( post traumatic stress disorder ) , after his accident , and that has made him depressed as well as anxious about his present condition , so he shall be requiring counseling /psychotherapy in the form of Cognitive behavioural therapy ( CBT ).tHIS WILL HELP HIM TO REGAIN HIS CONFIDENCE AND BELIEF IN HIMSELF , WHICH HAVE BEEN SHATTERED due to the accident.
I hope this helps..
I wish you all the best..
