Info Request

Hello,

Am I correct that the display works and the Nav is ok but it is just the radio that is not working?

Thank you.

Thats right - nav and display all work ok, although no nav voice commands due to audio not working

Thanks for the additional info.

This could be a failed radio unit or amplifier. Although if the radio cannot be selected from the screen it is most likley a problem with the radio unit and not the amplifier.

Sometimes water will get into the unit and the connector should be removed and re-attached. You can also check for power to the unit at the connector. It should be 12 Volts with the key on at the large red/green wire at the connector. Also double check fuse 56. You can even remove and reinstall the fuse to try to do a reset before going to the radio module.

The next step would be to check the radio unit and to try a disconnect at the radio unit. If you have good power at the unit then the radio is most likely failed and will need to be replaced.

This is the location of the radio behind the trim panels on the driver side of the trunk for a touring.

This has a slider type connection. The retainer slides out to unlock and then slides back into place to relock into the radio. Check for any corrosion on the pins...this might mean some water has gotton on the radio. If not you would check for power at the pin for the red/green large wire as this is the power. If that is good then the radio unfortutely is failed and would need replacement.

I hope this information is helpful. Please accept and thank you. Let me know if I can try to help you further.
