Answer

The problem could be error on hard drive or corrupted system files that make boot failed. Since you can not get in to the system with all the options you have tried from boot options. Do you have windows XP CD? You need to use XP CD to go to recovery consol.

  1. Insert the Windows XP CD into your CD drive and restart your computer. If you are prompted, select any options required to start (boot) from the CD.
  2. When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts. Select the repair or recover option by pressing R.
  3. If you have a dual-boot or multiboot system, select the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console. Normally choose 1.
  4. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password.
  5. Then the command prompt showed up
  6. Type CHKDSK /f and hit ENTER key
  7. If disk fix done, type SFC /scannow and hit ENTER
It will try to fix the error on disk. Let me know if that works.

hi,

by any chance....does the system display a message stating "to cancel press enter" or "to cancel press any key"...or something to that extent very early in the boot process?

No, when loading goes to start normally, then XP screen appears, then blue screen appears saying checking file system on C, type of file is FAT32, disc needs checking for consistency, volume serial no 049F-13C7, checks to100%, reports then another screen flashes up which is to quick to read, and then the whole thing starts again. If cancel disc check, then the final screen flashes up again and closes downstraight away and the process starts again.

ok...it does seem like a disk corruption.

now..I do not know how much time and effort you want to spend on this but there is a HUGE chance that teh only solution would be to reinstall and maybe even to change the hard disk.

What I would like you to try is to press the PAUSE key when the blue screen is there....I know is very fast....but I also know that in a couple tries you can do i....it's a matter of timing.....

What I need at least is the error code of the screen which is gonna be in the first couple lines on the upper left quadrant.

it will look somthing like 0x0000007F followed by 4 more similar strings 0x8F435FDC 0xC0000005 0X00000000

The numbers are made up....but I need AT LEAST the first number.

Tehre is a chance that I will need some information below that.....if it is a driver (antivirus, undelete, etc) it will show up on the screen.

if it is a driver indeed, then you probably won't have to reinstall but you will likely need the Windows XP CD.
