telling him NO! perhaps too loudly. thump on the nose with my index finger saying "enough" in a firm, but gentle tone

Hi there,

 

What causes him to bark?

 

Does he hear things outside?

 

Does he bark when you are not home?

at strangers, other dogs, for food, treats, excitement, to go out, oother?

Any person or vehicle passing in front on the street. He didn't bark the first week we had him. Now we are thinking of giving him away. We have an RV and can not take him to Parks with this parking at all things. He is usually with us so I do not know if he barks we we leave him home. We don't hear him when we pull into the driveway. The barking at other dogs isn't an issue since that is their form of communication. He whines to go out and to get on the bed. This we don't mind.

Dear friend,

 

I am sorry you are having trouble, but don't dispair because he is trainable.

 

All dogs bark to warn you "someone" is approaching so he is actually being a good boy by alerting you to what he perceives as danger.

 

The trick is to teach him when to bark aand when to be quiet.
