Answer

Thanks for the question.

This is not uncommon.

You need to follow these steps and the transaction will be realtively easy.

First, you need to turn your current house into a rental property. You don't have to have it rented to get the other house, but you need to indicate that is your intention. An actual lease agreement would help. That way you could stay in the house until you bought the new house.

Then you apply for a another mortgage for a primary residence.

It's an easy transaction.

Answer

I don't blame you.

Don't move until you get the new house.

Apply for the new house now. It will take at least a week to get approved.

will i need to be off this morgage first or can i have the two morgages at the same time.

Accepted Answer

You can have two mortgages at the same time.

You need either a signed rental contract or a signed contract that you're transferring to your brother.

Regards.
