Question

Good evening, I have a Panasonic CF-29 Toughbook that I recently restored using the restore cd. No problems there. I am not able to find the driver cd for the CF-VDR282 Multi-drive. That said, it works fine to read and write cds but will not work as a dvd player any longer. Error message reads as follows: "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer." Any ideas where I can get the driver for it without paying an arm and a leg for it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your attention to this question. Best regards, XXXX XXXXXXX

I may help you.

In order to play DVD, you need a decorder program. Do you have any software CD with the laptop, check if you can find either WINDVD or POWERDVD.

If you don't have, then don't worry. Two options:

1. Download a free codec that can work with media player

Click here and select "download full"

2. Download free DVD player, VLC
Click here

Let me know whether you can play DVD or not.
