I have just tryed the switch to make sure the traction control was not on

Hi, there are a number of sensors and actuators involved in the traction control system you could have a bad wheel speed sensor, or an issue with the abs system.
There are alot of components, so the only effective way to find the problem is to read the fault codes from the system with a bmw specific scan tool.
Once the fault codes are read, we can know what the repair will be.
