Question

2006 325xi. Strange problem: Started car this morning, wouldn't go past 2800 RPM, made driving very slow & laborious. Pedal to the floor, any gear, 2800 was the max. (Some kind of fuel control problem?) Went to filling station, filled it with 93 octane (was at 1/8 tank, low fuel lgt on), left motor off for 10-15 minutes, started it up, ran fine all day. Worried about a recurrence, very mysterious... Thanks!

Ok, what brand and octane fuel were you using before this tank?

Also is the oil level good in the engine?

Run 92 or better from now on. Also get 2 cans of chevron with techron fuel injector cleaner from the parts store. pour one can in this tank and another in with the next tank. 89 doesnt go as well as 92 or better. Other than that you should be ok.
