Question

I just acquired a 2007 328 XI, there is no near by BMW dealers. I had a local tire place put tires on it now my tire light indicator is on. There is no owners manual, until I get one can you tell me how to reset the light or is there something else the tire place needs to do? One other question: After I got it back from putting tires on it the key no longer unlocks the doors. Ocassionally, I can get it to unlock the drivers side but the passenger side won't unlock and it won't unlock inside the vehicle either. So, I can only get in my drivers door, any suggestions.

Optional Information

Year: 2007
Make: BMW
Year (other): 2007
Make (other): 323
Model: XI Sedan
Engine: 3 L

Already Tried:
I tried to scroll through the menu but couldn't figure out how to reset without manual. I would get the tire indicator to come up on dash but when I would push the ? button to reset it would take me back to the main screen and wouldn't reset it. As far as the door, I was going to check the fuses, but haven't did that yet after that I didn't know if I should unhook the battery to try to reset things or not. Other than that don't know what else to do. Thanks.

Accepted Answer

Hi, as long as the sensors are intact, and the tire pressures are around 32-40psi. It should work ok after a reset.
If you don't have the i drive screen in the center of the dash, it is reset using the left turn signal stalk.
With the engine running, doors closed. Main menu in the cluster.
Use the thumb wheel to pull up the tire pressure icon.
Push the end stalk button once, it should say reset.
Push and hold it again until you see a check mark come up, its now initializing.

For the lock problem, this is common, and is likely a blown fuse, # 57.
The fuse panel is located behind the glove box. You need to remove the panel at the rear of the glove box by turning the fastener on either side.
There should be a fuse card on the back side of the panel.
There is also a red fuse puller stored on the fuse panel to make it easier to remove.
Replace the 15amp fuse with a 20amp one, and recheck operation. This is what bmw recommends per a service bulletin.

Operate the locks, and listen for abnormal noises at each door, if one is noisier than the rest, then that door latch will need to be replaced. It may blow the fuse again.
