Question
I would like to know if R-13 batt insullation under my house would help hold in the heat in my house. I have carpet on top of double flooring. The crawl space under my house ia approx. 30 inches, but I have brick underpinning aroud the house.

R19 would be better. R13 is better than nothing. If the crawl space has a dirt floor you should cover the dirt with plastic. Be sure to put the vapor barrier on the fiberglass batts up against the floor (towards the living space).
