I would like to know if R-13 batt insullation under my house would help hold in the heat in my house. I have carpet on top of double flooring. The crawl space under my house ia approx. 30 inches, but I have brick underpinning aroud the house.

R19 would be better. R13 is better than nothing. If the crawl space has a dirt floor you should cover the dirt with plastic. Be sure to put the vapor barrier on the fiberglass batts up against the floor (towards the living space).

Hi XXXXXXXXXR19 would be better. R13 is better than nothing. If the crawl space has a dirt floor you should cover the dirt with plastic. Be sure to put the vapor barrier on the fiberglass batts up against the floor (towards the living space).
