hi, i have the acer aspire one netbook purchaced about 2 weeks ago. the camera program is called 'acer crystal eye' and it stopped working, (couldnt find the program) also the touch pad features stopped working, im able to use it as normal but not with the scroll and zoom features. i restored the laptop back to factory settings as the instructions said that all my files would be saved to the backup, but this didnt happen causing me to loose my itunes microsoft office program and all my work and my photos, and still the camera and touchpad arent working, please help. i have left the country where i purchaced the laptop (australia) and am now living in holland and i think it may be difficult to find a repairer??

Lets try to fix the touchpad first. Download this program, open it and extract it to a folder in your computer, then open that folder and run the installation file. Then restart the computer, then try to use the scroll and zoom features.

went through the same process as the touchpad but the camera program still wont open???

when i try to open it nothinig actually happens, the hour glass appears for a second next to the cursor but then dissapears and nothing... ive tried to install the program you gave me a couple of times and tried restarting the compunter too.

I see. Try this one, see if it opens. If it doesn't disable your firewall/anti-virus, then open it.

no, skype is really the only thing that i use. skype tells me i dont have a web cam.

Ok, Lets do this:

Press Start > Run > type in: devmgmt.msc
Press Ok

Device manager will load, Look through each category and find the Crystal Eye Webcam, then Right click on it and choose uninstall, then restart the computer. Then open skype, go into your video settings and see if it detects it.

there is no program in the catagories named crystal eye. but there is something in there called 'usb video device #2' which i havent really seen before. there is also an icon for this in my computer, strange as i dont have any usb devices in

Ok, no problem. The previous file that I was trying to get to work was the actual application. Here is the actual driver download, install, then restart the computer and go back into skype and it should be there.
