My dog is a 15 year old cocker. Her nose is dry and is peeling in large strips. Is there something I should do?

It's not unusual for a dog's nose to start peeling..especially when the seasons are changing and the air is becoming more dry.

 

You could try using a little 'bag balm' on the nose. This is an ointment that farmers used to use on the udders of their cows when they'd get chaffed and red. It's mainly a petroleum based ointment, so just dab a little on her nose, and try to keep her from licking it for at least 5 minutes. Another option would be something like Neosporin.
