Question
I have a 1991 Saab 900 base and the heater runs warm until you turn the fan to 2/3. I get no heat when idling. Dealer replaced the heater core (used unit) as well as selector. Any suggestions? I'm hesitant to return to the dealer as the above work was over three days (and a holiday).

Accepted Answer
hi , mostlikely the mixing doors arent closing/opening all the way, and when its on low, its able to catch some of the heat from the core, but when you turn it on any higher, it begins to suck in some of the cold air along with the heat, making the air lukewarm or cold. I would have them check the mixing doors, as that shouldve been one of the first things checked, over time, these doors tend to become weakend , or stuck, of if its vacuum operated, the hoses begins to become dilapidated.
