Question
I already talked to one expert and he was going to refer my problem to all the other experts. Since then I found some software, both a download online as well as a software CD. However I still have a problem. After typing in my password I get this message: "The software to be installed requires Administrator or higher level access privileges." I do not understand this. Can you help? K. Is BeBoo still there. I would like to get him if I can.

Hello, Yes, I am still here. I am not able to find a previous thread regarding this issue. Was I previously helping you with this matter? -Brandon

No, this is different, though you previously helped me get online and get wireless. All that still works good. Thank you!
Here's my problem now: With both the online download of the driver for my HP C4240 All-in-one Printer as well as with the software that I own, after I enter my password to authorize it, I get this message:
"The software to be installed requires Administrator or higher level access privileges." I get this message even after I have typed in my password.
Do you know what to do about that?

Are you using Windows or Mac OS X? That message means that you're not an administrator. Are you the only account on your computer?

Actually I'm using MAC OS 10.4.11 and in My Account it has my name with Admin in the box with it. My husband also has his own account on my computer. His is under Other Accounts and says Standard.
Thanks for your help.

Answer
This could be your disk permissions. Let's try to repair them. Go to the finder "Go" menu and open Utilities. From the Utilities window, open Disk Utility. In the Disk Utility application, on the left hand side click your hard drive, then click "Repair Permissions." It may take a while to complete, once it is done reboot your computer. Let me know if the problem persists after wards. -Brandon

It is letting me in, but I have another question.
Should my printer be connected or not
while I am reinstalling it?
Thanks

At this point it directs me to use my set-up-assistant. When I go to the second page where it says to select my HP device, the page is blank-no devices showing. Should my printer be connected at this point?
Thanks for your help.
