Question

I have a 2003 Olds. Silehoutte Mini Van. I just recently had the front and back braks replaced. However, I still have something that sounds like a winding down of something every time I stop. Do I need to be concerned about this noice?

Hello, my name is Mike and I can help with this question.

The noise you are hearing may be caused by the freshly machined surfaces of your front rotors. It can sometimes take a few hundred miles or so for this noise to go away.

If the noise has been there for beyond that amount of time, you'll want to have it looked at. Either there was a problem with the rotor finish, or possibly it could be caused by something else. But if you just had brakes done and the rotors were re-surfaced, that is likely the noise you are hearing.

Hope that answers your question.

Thanks,

Mike
