Question
My daughter is settling on the sale her house in NJ next month and moving to another state. She just moved to a rented, furnished house in that state. To honestly answer the "Seller's Residency certification" form at settlement, what would prohibit her from answering the first question "that she is a resident taxpayer in NJ?" Thank you

Thanks for your question. She could claim NJ residency here.If she still has voting card or filed last years taxes then she could claim residency under this question. If she says still has NJ license another supporting document here.Renting the house out of state does not necessarily mean she has decided to move her residency..
