I have a 12yr old kelpie x border collie, she has a hematoma on her ear and I don't want to risk a surgery at her age. She doesn't have any ear problems at all, it was a result of another dog attacking her.

I need to know if there is any other option with treating her ear other than surgery.

You have a couple of options:
Your veterinarian can drain the hematoma with a syringe, add a low dose steroid to shrink the leaky blood vessels, and wrap the ear against the head for one to two weeks until the swelling has resolved.
Your other option is to allow the ear to heal on its own, but it won't be as aesthetic since the ear will curl into itself (similar to cauliflower ear in people who play contact sports).
