Question

I have cervical ddd and have had 2 esi injections. For about a month now I have been having dizziness. It started out with a sinus infection with fluid on my ears...took an antibotic (2 rounds) I have had 2 ct scans and nothing..could this dizziness be coming from my neck problems? At times I have this tingle feeling in my neck that radiates up the back of my head.

Answer

Hi,

Your dizzines may be coming from the degenerative disease at your cervical spine ( neck).

If you have subluxation ( loosening) of C1-2 joints, then this is possible.

This can only diagnosed by Xrays taken at flexion & extension of neck views.

Another possibility is vertebrobasilar insufficiency. This is the arterial system supplying the posterior part of your brain.

Reduced blood supply due to arterial plaques etc. can cause persistent dizziness.

You should see a neurologist.

Thank you...I will discuss this with my Dr. I think it is coming from my neck of my inner ear because I am still having trouble with my sinuses... The dizziness comes and goes...It will go away for a day or 2 and then come back for a day or 2.

Accepted Answer

Yes. i also think that your problem is related to your neck.

if you still have discomfort in your ear, then inner ear inflammation or labyrinthitis can also cause this.

Labyrinthitis may take 2-3 months for full recovery.

You can try meclizine 25-50 mg upto 3 times a day to control your dizziness if required.
