Greetings.
The transmission of the chlamydia or any STD is not a rule and sometimes, the transmission does not occur despite the frequent sex. Though this is uncommon but can happen. The chlamydia does not transmit by the toilet seats and the only way of transmission is oral, vaginal and anal sex. Please see the resource;
http://chlamydia.emedtv.com/chlamydia/chlamydia-transmission.html
The testing is for the chlamydia species which is transmitted by the sex. There are other many other species also of chlamydia, but they cause other infection like lung infections.
Please feel free for your follow up questions.

Hello,
All diseases are not transmitted even when in contact. Let us take an example of the flu or cold. If there are 6 members in the family; some will contract the flu or cold and some will be spared. So infection transmission is not a rule, though a high possibility. Since you have been tested negative, the past contact cannot surface a new infection. The only way now you can get the chlamydia is with a new contact.
It is pleasure and privilege assisting you.
