Question

I had pneumonia, Une afternoon I couldn't breathe and my lips were blue. While in ambulance, I went into cardiac arrest before we got to hospital. They thought at first I had had a heart attack; the doctors changed their minds after I had no blockage, no clots and my pacemaker nwas working properly. They said they didn't know what happened to me but my apex was damaged. I had no pain at all, no numbness, just all of a sudden I couldn't breathe right or get my breath. Could you shed light on what happened to me and why?

It's shaped the right way now. It may correct itself later on. Some do. I really can't explain any better. That's the gist of what they told me.

Is it the apex of heart or lung?

Heart

Answer

Thank you for the input.

The breathlessness can lead to cyanosis causing blue lips. Again low oxygen level or hypoxia in blood if prolonged can cause cardiac arrest. However the cause of the breathlessness is not evident from your history. Apex of the heart can be damaged if there is low blood supply to that area. In the absence of block in corornary artery the other factor can be spasm of it leading to low blood supply. This may explain the cause of damage.

Hope this information will help you.
Wish your healthy life.
Any query, please ask.

What caused the breathlessness in the first place and why couldn't I breathe?

Accepted Answer

If there was inadequate output of the heart leading to congestion in lungs & breathlessness.
