I have a 2002 jetta 1.8t my engine light comes on a lot I reset it it gives me a code p3081 fuel air meterins auxiliary emissions controls what can i do to fix it

The fault is for engine warm up. it most likely needs a thermostat.

I understand kinda what your saying but heater seems fine I thought the code dealt with emission. why would a thermastat give a emissions fault? It also seems to hesitate when you give the gas if I have a bad hose air or what ever seems like this would be part of emissions ? It runs fine on top end kinda has problems in take off?
Answer
The longer that it takes a vehicle to warm up the worse the emissions is coming out the tailpipe. You may have another problem as well but the P3081 is for the slow warm up the is usually caused by the thermostat.
